Vacation Bible School 2011

May 24-27, 2011
International Baptist Church at Dumaguete was happy to host a 2011 daily Vacation Bible School. The theme, “A Path Through the Jungle,” was designed to help teach boys and girls, kindergarten through sixth grades, the importance of having the Word of God as a map and a light through the jungle of life. The children learned several songs, Bible verses, and had an wonderful time.

DAY 1127 children from the local area came to be part of the first day of VBS – on a rainy day! 66 of those children received Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour! |
DAY 2Many children were unable to attend this morning because of school enrollment taking place. Still, we had 120 children, of which 31 were first time visitors. 18 children received Christ today! Looking forward to a great day tomorrow! |
DAY 3Although it rained and many children were enrolling for school, 113 children were in attendance for VBS today. Another 5 first time children. Three more children trusted Christ this morning. |
DAY 4Although the Philippines was not hit “directly” by Super Typhoon Songda (Chedeng), we are receiving much of the rain from the storm. Heavy rains this morning made it difficult for many children to make it to VBS. Still, 97 children made it in this morning for Vacation Bible School. There were three new children and five saved today! We are looking forward to the awards service this evening! |
AWARDS SERVICEWe had 64 adults and children show up for our awards service in addition to the 124 children who came to participate. All heard the Gospel and at least three adults made it know that they were trusting Christ. |
