International Baptist Church at Dumaguete members are encouraged to attend our Charter Service this coming Wednesday, May 2, 2012, to follow the evening Bible study which begins at 6:30pm. This is going to be a historic day in the life of our church and we need all members to be present as we sign our charter and vote to become incorporated. Do not miss this special business meeting that will take place. Pastor DeMoville is teaching a series on Wednesday evenings now entitled, “Dear Church.” What a great time for our church to make this step as we are striving to do what Jesus Christ expects of us.
We’ve concluded this year’s Vacation Bible School! Tuesday through Friday the church auditorium was decorated to resemble a castle. The theme was “Children of the King.” The boys were taught to be princes and the girls attended “Princess School” in the church library each day. There were 171 children who registered during the week and the total number of people who received Christ was at least 100, including some of the parents who attended the awards service on Friday evening.
Our workers, led by Bro. Mike Morrissey, did a great job! Photos from the week are available in our photo gallery.
Pastor DeMoville has started a new series of Wednesday evening Bible Studies entitled, “Dear Church.” For the next several weeks we will be examining what Jesus Christ had John write to the seven churches in Asia. His words to those churches are relevant to us today. Come join us each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. as we learn together how to be a church that is pleasing to the One who purchased us with His own blood.
This year’s V.B.S. begins this Tuesday morning, April 17, 2012, at 9:00 a.m.! You will not want to miss out on the fun and excitement as everyone sings, has activities, hears the Bible taught, plays games, and learns how to be “Children of the King.” All children, ages 6-12 years, are invited to attend this free event at International Baptist Church at Dumaguete.
Though we take time each year to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we, at International Baptist Church, believe that every Sunday is Resurrection Day! We serve a living Saviour! We meet each and every week in recognition of the One Who died for us and rose again. I do hope that you will join us this Sunday, April 8, 2012, as we meet together to listen to songs about the resurrection, sing about our risen Saviour, and hear a message from the Word of God about the power of a resurrected life and a resurrected church!
If you’re looking for a church that understands the true meaning and significance of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, look no further than International Baptist Church at Dumaguete. You’re welcome here and you’ll enjoy the difference! We hope to see you this and every Sunday.
